Jimmy from Cane Creek

In August 2011 I spent a week in the area around Bankukut and the neighboring region called Cane Creek.  I got to know a new friend named Jimmy.  Jimmy and I have been working to expand his chocolate orchard and connect his crops with a market in the US.  Jimmy was killed by a neighbor.  A Spaniard squatter on Rama land. Jimmy was a father, a husband, a farmer, and a leader in the Bankukut community.  I will miss my new friend Jimmy.
